Honk honk zoom

I was just browsing through my old sketchbook and i found this poem that i had written on my way to college. I think i wrote it last year when i used to travel with my father.
One of the disadvantages of travelling in Mumbai is the amount of traffic. It can take hours to reach your destination. Especially during monsoon!
So here goes the poem. Hope you enjoy it.

Peace, quiet, fresh air,
Honk honk zoom,
Home is the only place that lets me breathe normally.
Honk honk zoom,
On my way to college,
Form one signal to the other,
In a crowded place, with hardly any people around.
One person in a car i see;
Is it really necessary?
Carpooling; i think is the way.
Simple maths:
1 person/ car = 1000 cars
4 people/ car = 250 cars
Wont the traffic go down?
At a time, less number of cars would be used in the town.
Three hours to reach the Arabian Sea,
From Mumbai to Mumbai,
Are you kidding me?!
Solutions at hand no one wants to follow,
Suggestions that don't make sense are given though.

Honk honk zooom,
From Thane to Mumbai.

Honk honk zoooom,
Vehicles go through,
Slowly,
Tyres rotate once, BRAKE.
Rotate again, brake.
Spends more time steady than
Rolling on beautiful roads,
Windows down,
Hair flying,
Come outta the dream!
If you open the window,
You'll fall sick!
There is a gas chamber on the Chembur bridge.
The sun shines one minute,
The next minute it rains.
Doesn't wash away dirt, but your mood.
Gloomy weather, now sunny,
Cloud covers, now dark.
Doesn't make sense to me,
Neither would it, to you.
From the start of this poem, until now, I've crossed only 2 meters.
On the Chembur bridge,
Outside is a gas chamber.
I used to go outdoors to get fresh air.
Now i wait to reach home to get some.

Some people

Some people is a post dedicated to some people who have managed to make a place in my mind, good or bad, pretty or ugly, either of these or all of the above. Trust me, some people have the ability to be the best and worst part of your lives and nobody except you are responsible for it.

Come to think of it, we ourselves give such people the opportunity to break or mend our hearts. We give them the power to play with our mind, body and soul. With this done, we don't realise how wrong our decisions were and how much all those things could affect us once these people leave with short or no notice.

I've had beautiful friends, always. Their number may be few but i know exactly who i can count on and who will stab me in the chest and leave me to die all by myself. When unpleasant events happen, we understand how everyone deals with disasters in their own ways, either by saving themselves or by bringing in people they love to a safe place.

Those cowards who run for their lives first, without even trying to save someone else, even when its possible, will find this situation coming back to them in one way or another in the form of sweet sweet KARMA. Its the one thing that i can guarantee. If someone has knowingly done something wrong to you, the same thing will get back to them in this lifetime itself! Whether you get to watch it or not depends on your luck. But be happy and be sure of such a thing happening.

So don't think about those people who have caused harm or have hurt you in ways you think cant be healed. Your mental wounds will heal if you let them heal. Be happy and be with people who are with you right now.

Because, after every sunset, is a sunrise waiting to radiate happiness and warmth in your life!

Give all your love and respect to people who deserve it.

Until next time, stay happy and live like a boss :)

Summer so far!

Hello everyone!

Let me start with a li'l something about the year 2012. I had thought this year would be a pain like 2011, but to my surprise, this year has treated me very well. Although there have been many ups and downs, for one, i finished college. Awaiting my results, but i already miss all my friends (Its not even been a month for God's sake!). Moving on, (not really :'( )

I went for a superb trip to Murud, with all my sanki friends!

Murud is located near Alibaug, it is much calmer and the place where we stayed was almost people-less ;) As you can see in the photos, there were not more than 20 people on the beach at a given time. Flashback! Sigh...

Can you believe how clear the water was? Neither can I :')

A beach in your backyard! Sounds more than perfect to me!

Made these chocolate chip cookies for the trip :)

So, this holiday at Murud was followed by another one in Lonavala. Thanks to my parent's 30th anniversary, we had another reason to celebrate :D
We stayed at Fariya's for 3 days and play, eat and sleep was all we did!

The most beautiful Lonavala cliche, if you ask me, is watching the sunset.

Always beautiful!

I'm a huge fan of nail stuff! And I'm talking crazy!
I do crazy stuff with my nails...This is a twist on the classic "French Manicure". None of my friends told me how ugly it looked (I have a bunch of sweet friends). I managed to pull this off for 20 days :D
I happen to love all this, but I'm sure i wont repeat this style ever again!

What is summer without food?! Tried my hands on some French bread :D The picture on the right is home-made mango ice-cream, the perfect thing to shoo away this heat :)

Funny things that i do with my bestie :D

Made these cup cakes for mommy since it was Mother's day yesterday. 12 of my cup cakes met with an accident *SOB* hence the short form for "Happy Mother's Day"
Moma loved them so i think i'm making it a yearly ritual (<3)

This monstrosity of wall painting was done two days ago!
It took me an entire day to finish this piece, and it was completely worth the effort:D
This is a whimsical representation of my dream; To be the cup cake Goddess and to own a tiny cat :)
Also, I love the moon, so it had to be there!!

(Notice Ele shying away from the camera :P)

My summer so far has been very eventful and i hope it continues to be that way :D
How has summer 2012 treated you?
Leave a comment to let me know.

:)

Happy 2012 :D

Flavours

Hello people. I greet all of you with yumness!

What makes food yummy? The taste. What does food get its taste from? Flavours! Yes, natural or artificial, flavour plays an important role in everything you eat!

There are so many flavours i have played with. And i really really want to explore a lotta new flavours for baking.

My favourite flavour is coffee. Coffee is so rich, richer than chocolate, it makes me feel old and wise. The smell of coffee alone gives me a kick! It kinda cleanses my soul giving it a layer of wisdom. How i love coffee!

Like i told you before, i wanna try heaps of new flavours this year... Whuch include lavendar, rose, pistachios, Almonds, kiwis!!
The list is never ending.

Tell me which flavours you like and which ones you want to try. Mail me or leave a comment. Have a flavourful day :D
Keep smiling.

fur balls!

I have been very busy with a lot of things since a long time! (in case you are wondering why i don't post often :P) There's just so much on my plate right now. We have an exhibition in feb (Viz Impact 2012 in Rachana Sansad College Of Applied Art and Craft) for which i invite you all :D Ya, and i'm busy working on my campaign for this exhib.
Plus i have plans of studying abroad for pursuing a career in Pastry and Baking for which i'm researching a lot and after the exhibition i have my board exams!
Phew!

So i'll come back to the topic.
Everyone has their likes and dislikes. But there are things we like more than others and there are things that we LOVE.
I love animals, esp cats!
If i don't achieve what i want to, i'm sure i'm going to turn into a crazy cat lady :P

So cats, they are so mysterious and cute at the same time. They mew when i mew at them! Apparently, their mewing is reserved only for humans. I've spent a lot of time with cats. My bestfriend has one, we call him frosty.

YES! That's him when we adopted him for my friend's b'day. One month old. He was so cute, cloud like, cheerful, playful and full of life! (aaaand he would fart as if hez eaten a huge truck of smelly hot dogs >.<)

This was him after a year! so big :D i feel like his aunt who comes to visit him every once in a while. At this point in time he was still cute, active with a tiny tiny paunch. Aren't his eyes amazing?

That's Frosty after 2 years! Psst...look at his tummy :P
i <3 him.

Here are some other cats i've played with!

This is a cute video of a kitten playing with her mommy's tail!
this video was taken outside my software class. Cats find me wherever i go!

That is me with them. They posed with me when i fed them a packet of Whiskas's wet cat food. You have to bribe cats too these days. Tch tch tch.

This cute lil thing we saw in Panchmarhi in Madhya Pradesh where we had gone for a study tour in 2010.

This is Hazel, now Pooshnika. His very first name was sheeba, owned by a person who shifted to Dubai and my friend Prachi Lodaya adopted him. Later he was adopted by Shruti Kumar, our classmate.
Hez been a lazy cat all along :) he looks girly and could be a great model :D

There are a lot more photos which i'd love to share with all of you!
But i think i'll stop for today, i need to get back to work ;)

I think i know why i feel close to this species of animals. My mommy says, i was a cat in my previous life! But I am so much like a cat!
I sit around the house all day. Every once in a while i take rounds and see what everyone is upto!
I can live my life only knowing that all i'm allowed to do is sleep and eat. When i'm happy I swing from side to side (like a cat's tail), i mew when i see my mommy, i love eating fish! I love corners and i'm usually found in one doing nothing :P

Tell me how you feel about cats and i'd love it if u share a few experiences with them.
Lots of love!
